Internews Network Data Breach

On December 7, 2021,  Internews Network experienced a data breach where an unauthorized third party gained access to its network where sensitive patient data was stored. Internews Network waited until January 28, 2022 to notify people that their information was accessed. 

WHAT INFORMATION IS INVOLVED?

According to Internews Network, the following information was affected:

  • Social Security Number
  • Date of Birth

This information is called your Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) or Protected Health Information (“PHI”). It tells others about you and is considered part of your identity. Businesses are required to secure this information or risk facing statutory penalties, among other legal penalties. Stolen PII and PHI can be used by identity thieves to engage in fraudulent activity using your identity.

Internews Network is offering 2 years of credit monitoring and identity protection services provided through Kroll. California offers extra protection and legal rights to its residents through the California Consumer Privacy Act. If you received a NOTICE OF DATA BREACH, contact us to discuss your rights.
